Detergent Factory Management Software

A formula is written for a full run in kilos, with a waste rate on each component. The production order takes materials from the batches expiring first and gives the run its own batch number and expiry date.

A detergent formula in the system: components in kilos, waste rates and the cost of the run

Costs are worked out on old prices

Every material is issued at the actual cost of its batch, so the run cost reflects what you really paid, not the last price in a notebook.

Waste isn't counted

Each component has a waste rate. With 1% waste on bottles, the order issues 1,010 bottles for 1,000 products, and the cost carries the waste.

Which product came from which material

Materials enter with their batch and expiry, and products leave with a run number (MO-order number) and expiry, so any run can be traced to its materials.

Example: a run of 1,000 one-litre bottles of dish soap

The figures follow exactly how the system calculates.

  1. The formula for 1,000 bottles: 80 kg sulfonic acid at EGP 60, 12 kg caustic soda at EGP 40, 20 kg salt at EGP 5, 3 kg fragrance at EGP 450, 0.2 kg colour at EGP 600, and 1,000 bottles at EGP 2.50 with 1% waste.
  2. Materials: 4,800 + 480 + 100 + 1,350 + 120 + 2,525 for bottles (1,010 issued) = EGP 9,375, plus EGP 500 of labour and overhead on the formula.
  3. The run is recorded at EGP 9,875, so each bottle costs about EGP 9.88 (9,875 ÷ 1,000), and it enters stock with batch MO-order number and an expiry date.
  4. When you sell, products are issued from the run expiring first, just like materials.

What you will use day to day

  • A formula for a full run in kilos and fractions
  • A waste rate per component
  • Batches and expiry for materials and products
  • Oldest-expiry-first issue
  • Stages: base mix, then filling
  • Drum and kilo as material units
  • Material check before an order
  • Cost and profit per product

The modules behind it

How to get started

  1. When signing up, choose "Factory (manufacturing)".

  2. Add materials by the kilo or litre with batches and expiry turned on, and add the drum as a unit.

  3. Write the formula of each product for a full run and start with a production order.

Worth knowing before you subscribe

  • The system does not check formulas chemically; you enter the quantities.
  • There are no certificates of analysis or quality control for runs.

Frequently asked questions

Does water go in the formula?

If you want to cost it, add it as a material with a cost; otherwise leave it out of the formula.

Can I make one mix and fill it in different sizes?

Yes. The mix is a semi-finished item, and each bottle size has its own formula drawing on the mix.

What about expired materials?

They are not issued to production, and you record them as expired with a loss entry.
